Shirt progress: Another prototype, another fail
Another Simon prototype, another miss. This time need to figure out armscye ease. The sleeve is too tight at the shoulder. Again, learning my body is out of range for a lot of things.
Or give up on the Simon and try a different sleeve design. I've been investigating the more traditional square sleeve with gusset designs as a possible alternative. Bernadette Banner's "fancy renaissance underwear" has a shoulder seam (which should make insertion of neck gussets easier) and a neck hole that drops forward. My attempt at the ubiquitous "pirate shirt" ended up with awkward neck placement due to my scoliosis.
Which means another round of prototyping. Fortunately, the refurb of a family vintage sewing machine went well, so it should be easier to get prototypes completed to figure this out, maybe.
