Name Her Holy by Aubrey Ennis (short review)
Name Her Holy is a wonderfully queer fantasy. Jude is a warrior with a complicated secret family legacy. Kye is a troubled prophet chosen by the gods. But sometimes being the chosen one is a bad deal.
Good: Addresses internalized and familial transphobia but not from the context of the typical coming out or denial narratives.
Neutral: Slow burn relationship development without "spice." Both main characters have a lot going on in this book.
Needs work: I struggled a bit with the last couple of chapters. Although I felt that the build-up to the climax was great, the action within the climax was sometimes difficult to understand.
Looking forward to the next volume.
